The Scientific Writer II specializes in writing complex scientific topics for various audiences. This is a crucial role in bridging the gap between scientists and the public by making complex concepts accessible to non-experts.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Distills complex information into clear and concise language that can be understood by both experts in the field and general readers.
- Researches and gathers information on a specific topic, analyzes data from studies or experiments, and then communicates this information through articles, reports, or other forms of written content.
- Evaluates research findings and presents accurate information in an engaging manner.
- Conducts interviews with experts.
- Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
- Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
- Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and Human Resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.

Education/Experience(Required)
- Master’s degree in biomedical research field and a minimum of five (5) years related experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Must possess scientific knowledge and understanding of biosafety containment practices and have a scientific background that includes Microbiology and Virology.

- Advanced proficiency in document development (i.e., software specifications, user guides, training materials etc.).
- Superior technical writing and editing skills with comprehensive knowledge of accepted practices and methodologies.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of key business processes with ability to communicate/translate needs to others.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Productivity Tools.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and extremely detail-oriented with ability to quickly grasp business needs and issues.
- Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to manage workload and time effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Flexible with ability to interact and work well with others for the successful achievement of goals.
