As the Chief Medical Information Officer for Optum Technology, you will help drive a next generation clinical platform supporting individuals from wellness through hospice care, shape future clinical technology investments and create value to both healthcare providers and consumers.

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Provide clinical expertise for platform/product development
  • Influence platform/product direction based on clinical relevance
  • Advocate from a clinical point of view
  • Evangelize platform/product internally and externally
  • Advance clinical technology agenda, including work in the Genomics and Biomarker spaces
  • Collaborate with technology teams to build Proof of Concepts
  • Challenge the status quo and serve as an enterprise steward to drive change
  • Serve as Clinical subject matter expert across the Optum Technology organization




Required Qualifications:

  • Clinician with advanced degree (e.g., DO, MD, MSN, PharmD) and current board certification
  • 10 + years of experience managing Clinical Informatics programs/projects affecting end-users interacting with patients
  • Demonstrated understanding how technology can optimize and enable business objectives
  • Track record of success translating customer needs into high quality system solutions and ensuring effective operational outcomes
  • Proven organizational acumen, evidenced by a history of effectively navigating a matrixed eco-system to get results
  • Embodies a commitment to support the growth and development of others as a servant leader


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Currently seeing patients in a clinical setting
  • Formal training and/or board certification in Clinical Informatics
  • MBA
