For our client, we are seeking a Physician Advisor to join the team of a leader in the Hospitals & Medical Centers space. This role will lead continuous improvement work focused on process discipline, productivity, and measurable operating gains. You will partner with operational leaders and project stakeholders to standardize workflows, identify bottlenecks, and improve execution quality. The position offers the opportunity to create measurable efficiency gains and scalable operational improvements within a healthcare environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $198,000 – $297,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Assess status determinations for hospitalized patients
- Conduct peer to peer discussions with payor medical directors
- Review short inpatient stays for appropriate care levels
- Daily review of observation patients to optimize care
- Foster relationships with medical staff for effective utilization management
- Contribute as a subject matter expert in UM Committees
- Support medical staff with appeals and denial management
- Educate staff on utilization management processes
- Collaborate with UR nurses and case management for continuous improvement
- Analyze denial trends to adapt strategies for new payor challenges
Qualifications
- MD/DO Physician (mandatory)
- 5-7 years of experience in clinical practice or medical management
- Knowledge of resource/utilization management
- Strong communication and executive decision-making skills
- Experience with peer reviews and care management protocols
