Roles and Responsibilities 

As a Health Services Business Analyst, you will be responsible to study and measure assigned Health Services department business processes, the data they generate, key processes, outcome metrics, and key business questions/outcomes. As a member of cross-functional teams, you will document business processes and analytic tool design, ensuring that it is accessible to others, repeatable and accurate. You will assist in the creation of user stories and collaborate with your cross-functional and/or BA team to test whether solutions deliver value to identified users, according to priorities established by key business stakeholders. You will support the Health Services organization (Clinical Services, Mental Health & Substance Use Disorder Services, Care Coordination & LTSS and Health Services & Quality Operations) by helping to ensure that product features and solutions deliver an excellent user/customer experience and conform to departmental, corporate, industry, and regulatory standards as specified.

  • Understand and document systems and their current state and functionality to define needs and recommend solutions that deliver value to identified stakeholders(s). Value could be reduction of costs, reduction of risks, enhanced quality, improving user/customer satisfaction and/or the ability to support data driven decision making.
  • Create visual documentation of key workflows, processes, and opportunities to enable a shared understanding of their assigned functional area across UCare.
  • Shares understanding of user needs to collaborate on workflow & system design, testing, maintenance, and the proactive measuring and monitoring of their performance over time.
  • Perform the identification, documentation, and communication of epics, features and user stories to support product, process, people and technology changes and improvements for the Health Services organization.
  • Perform GuidingCare user acceptance testing, as needed, for monthly patch releases, product enhancements, and other related initiatives requiring end to end testing.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

  • Three years business analysis experience.
  • Two years of experience working in health care related setting.
  • Experience participating in cross functional product teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Knowledge of state and federal health care programs.
  • Experience with GuidingCare, HealthRules Payer.
  • Cross-departmental communication.
  • Strategic thinking and backlog prioritization. Human centered design. Experience with Scrum methodology.
