Beth Israel Deaconess Medical
Description
- Develops, tests, and maintains signal processing algorithms and solves biomedical engineering problems.
- Advises licensees of BIDMC-assigned inventions regarding implementation of licensed software that was co-invented. Maintains computer files of clinical and experimental laboratory data and analyzes data at the level of co-investigator/co-author on clinical and experimental research projects. Performs statistical analyses as needed.
- Develops and tests signal processing algorithms that form the basis of new patent applications assigned to BIDMC. Analyzes clinical and experimental pilot data reported in the patent applications.
- Maintains a sophisticated signal processing and electronics laboratory facility and provides engineering support for installation, maintenance, repair, and upgrading of the laboratory's computer hardware and software and for certain scientific instrumentation.
- Performs design, bench testing, and modification of electronic circuitry and equipment for physiological signal acquisition and processing and includes innovation and problem solving, with new electronic designs, algorithm development, and validation. Teaches medical students and fellows in computerized analysis of several new ECG parameters of arrhythmia risk.
