The Medical Director at Physicians’ Education Resource (PER®) works with members of cross-functional teams to develop the content for CME/CE-certified educational initiatives.

Location: Cranbury, NJ or Remote

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • The function of the medical director includes but is not limited to implementation of the following tasks:
  • Develop and maintain knowledge in assigned therapeutic areas, including, hematology and oncology
  • Develop text-based and multimedia-based live and online CME/CE certified activities
  • Ensure that all ACCME and related regulatory guidelines are implemented where required
  • Travel to and participate in the onsite execution of selected educational activities, when needed
  • Perform other duties, tasks, and/or functions as assigned
  • Comply with Company SOPs

Education, experience & skills:

  • An advanced degree (eg, MD, DO, PhD, RN, PharmD) and clinical experience preferred; other graduate degrees (MPH, MS) or bachelor’s degrees, with relevant experience, will be considered
  • At least 3 years' experience in medical education content development, including at least 2 years' experience in CME/CE
  • At least 5 years' experience managing people and leading cross-functional teams
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in the area of medical education/publishing, including the ability to interpret complex information and data and present them in a cohesive manner
  • Very good therapeutic knowledge in assigned medical topics (eg, important clinical issues, clinical practice guidelines, current and emerging therapeutic options, important clinical trials, top thought leaders, etc) and ability to quickly get up to speed on new therapeutic topics
  • Good knowledge of ACCME and other relevant, regulatory standards governing the development of CME/CE activities
  • Good familiarity with AMA style
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to ensure work is completed on time, at the highest level of quality, and within prescribed parameters
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (written & verbal in English)
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (eg, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Self-motivated, team player, highly organized and detail oriented, with impeccable time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize/reprioritize, thrives in a highly deadline-driven environment
  • Deadline driven, results-oriented, accurate, and analytical
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with input/guidance from medical affairs team members

Preferred experience:

  • Experience with Salesforce and/or other web-based project management tools

Other requirements:

  • Willingness to travel (approximately 20%) for project-related work and office-based meetings
  • Live within commuting distance of the Cranbury, NJ, office, or willing to work remotely from a home office
