Description

As the Health Billing Compliance Director, you will ensure organizational billing processes are compliant and adhere to applicable laws and regulations that are relevant to Best Buy Health’s businesses. This role will identify compliance gaps, risk areas, and opportunities for streamlining and implementing process improvements. The Billing Compliance Director will partner with senior leadership to implement a plan focused on strategies for sustaining billing compliance, long-term best practices, remediation guidelines, and ongoing training.

Roles and Responsibilities 
  • Design risk assessments; organize and conduct audits to identify billing compliance gaps and deficiencies.
  • Design and implement key operational initiatives while maintaining adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Review organizational practices and procedures to determine whether they comply with legal, internal, and accreditation rules and regulations. Implement new practices/procedures when necessary.
  • Partner with Legal, Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure compliance expectations are being met by developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance protocols.
  • Leverage data and provide reports and recommendations to reduce costs, eliminate errors and deliver excellence in billing processes.
  • In partnership with senior leadership, define and maintain a tracking/reporting model to allow for outward/upward reporting of KPIs and team performance to ensure proper visibility.
  • Prepare and organize billing and compliance training sessions and materials to educate employees and management on correct practices.
  • Provide SME input to Product Management as new billing and referral systems are concepted and built.
Basic qualifications
  • 5 years’ experience in a billing compliance role.
  • 5 years’ progressive leadership/management experience.
  • 10 years’ experience in healthcare claims management/medical billing.
Preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • 8 years’ experience in a billing compliance role.
  • 8 years' progressive leadership/management experience.
  • Experience with contact center technology, including Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Process improvement experience.
  • Project management experience.
